Today’s Artist Interview Is With Massimo Cremagnani From Milano, Italy.

Whopple: How long have you been an artist?
Massimo:
Since I’ve been born, I think. But as a primary way of life it is quite 20 years.

Whopple: Tell us about your first attempts to be creative.
Massimo:
In the early days I was influenced by surrealism. In that period (for 10 years +/-) I used most of the traditional techniques: oil, mixed, sculpture, etching, silkscreen… Then, in the middle of 90′s, I began a research in digital ways, before just in imagery and then in more deep techniques of printing with special medias.

Artist Interview

Whopple: Do you make a living with your art?
Massimo:
If you mean do I sell enough art to live, the answer is no. I have worked as a journalist, graphic designer, digital printing consultant and more. Actually I’m working on a personal project to build the first digital printing museum in the world.

Whopple: How many hours a day do you create?
Massimo:
Creation takes half of my time. The rest is study, staying informed and the search for inspiration.

Whopple: How did you pick your creative medium?
Massimo:
In the 90′s I thought that computer solutions could be powerful and useful to express
artistic ideas with charisma and precision, and overall a new and unique technique. So I began t0 research and understand if this could be true, applying and enhancing every other technique
experience in the new media.
