the spirals are very interesting, seems like the follow the laws of the golden ratio – do they?

  • Ms. Guggenheim mentions she was creative as a child.

Her good fortune is that she was allowed to keep that gift.

Creativity is natural to us as human beings.

If we walk into any random kindergarten and ask the class who is an artist, every little hand will be raised.

However, just four years later, if one asks that same group of children who is an artist, no hands will be raised, and the children will be looking around the room to see if anyone dares to admit to being an artist.

That is going to have to change.

Daniel Pink in his book, A Whole New Mind, discusses the knowledge worker vs the concept worker, and concludes that it is the concept worker who will flourish in the US during the 21st century.

By concept worker he means that in order to thrive, one is going to have to combine knowledge with creativity in order to earn a middle class wage, as knowledge work (engineering, law and medicine) are gradually taken over by third world graduates.

The point is that artists are now preferred by Wall Street over the MBA. Show a Wall Street firm an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) and the job will be that person's before we can say Jackie Robinson.

Why? Because artists are much more observant and empathetic. They seem to be able to feel what clients want even before the client himself knows.

In this artist's case, she didn't allow her creativity to die. For that, she is to be congratulated.

  • The candle picture adds so much of elegance.Just cannot take eye off it.
